A bit hard to see, this was one of my favorite pages from the Wonder Woman graphic novel. This scene shows young Princess Diana as she realizes her mother Hippolyta is being beaten by her husband. Obviously, this is an alternate tale of Wonder Woman!

I often wish this page had been printed from scanned pencils, but at the time, this was not really an option.

I am not auditioning, I am not in line to do the book, and I have two GN projects for DC’s Vertigo that I need to clear off my schedule before I can take on any new work at DC. So, no to All of the Above.

I am working on the GN Gone to Amerikay with Derek McCulloch, and Stealth Tribes with Warren Ellis. Stealth Tribes is temporarily sacrificed on the altar of Amerikay.

This is a page of my original pencils from a graphic novel called Wonder Woman: The Once and Future Story. This page was scanned from a photocopy of the pencil art.

The final version was inked by a very talented artist named Jackson Guice. However, our styles did not mesh well, and the published work didn’t come out the way I intended. I’m glad to be able to show folks the pencil art.

Many inkers have told me my delicate line work is very difficult to handle, and I haven’t worked with an inker in almost eight years. However, I’ve worked with some of the best, such as Bob Wiacek, Greg Adams, and Terry Austin.

Since I ink all my own work now, I do final inks over loose layouts. I rarely do tight pencil art for comic book reproduction anymore.

A private commission pencil sketch of Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld. This book was one of my first assignments in mainstream comics. I am surprised anyone remembers I worked on it!

I don’t do many commissions these days, and have about five I have to complete from last year. I can’t accept any more jobs until the old ones are finished.

I enjoy doing them and make sure I only accept the kinds of projects I would like to do. That way, the patron gets my best effort.
