This is not an official Tolkien piece, but I drew this with the the character Radagast the Brown in mind some years ago. I don’t think it’s ever been published.
Recently, The One Ring.net contacted me to ask if I had any Lord of the Rings portraits they could use in their galleries. I pulled out the drawing, and whipped up a digital color version.
A lot of digital artists pride themselves on hyper-realism, and I think that’s great. But I prefer the hand made look, and think I managed that here.
This piece digitally combines a pencil drawing, a watercolor painting, and copper.
